A nursery that changes established standards. Even in lighting. The newly built kindergarten Doubek Svítkov won one of five jury awards in the Building of the Year Pardubice Region 2021 competition. Rightly so - although it is a relatively small kindergarten, its implementation is precise. The spaciously demanding kindergarten building is naturally integrated into the development of family houses and imaginatively solves the interconnection of indoor and outdoor spaces, acoustics, lighting and shading. Although Med Pavlík architekti has already completed several similar projects, this was its very first new kindergarten building and a great challenge. It was the first new construction of a kindergarten in the regional city of Pardubice since the revolution. The kindergarten is situated in the Polabská landscape, which is characterized by many agricultural areas divided by small draws of pine-oak forests. The name of the kindergarten - Doubek - was chosen accordingly. The architects therefore work here with wooden furniture, solid wooden doors or floor coverings made of natural rubber instead of PVC.

The architects complemented the space with circular luminaires to achieve the character of a residential, homely and playful interior. For this reason, the luminaires are in three different sizes and irregularly spaced around the interior. In particular, there are 60 pieces of Halla Rundo62 circular luminaires. These met both the aesthetic demands of the architects and also met the demanding technical requirements. One of them was a favourable colour rendering index (Ra90) - it has been proven that such light has a positive effect on the psyche of children.
"I am very satisfied with the selected luminaires. We didn't want the same light shining on the children as in the office - we were looking for one that wasn't stark, white. Although there are several manufacturers of similar luminaires, we liked the fact that Halla demonstrated a really perceptible naturalness in the colour rendering of the luminaires in real light tests." said Tomas Med.
